Update to Judge Vaughn Walker’s Ruling over Prop 8

I didn’t know this when I wrote about it on Thursday, but Vaughn R. Walker is openly gay (maybe this is proof that I’m not looking for ammo, cause I would have mentioned that). Think about this: The most costly campaign on either side over a state proposition, EVER. After all of the drama over Prop 22 being overturned, Prop 8 being voted in by the majority of California voters, and now an openly gay judge gets the case?  Can anyone say bias? He personally has something to gain by overturning Proposition 8.

  1. Does it matter? You are saying that just because he is gay, means that he doesn’t know how to rule fairly.

The question is, what do you have to gain by Prop 8 *not* being overturned.

    • Wow, way to put words in my mouth. I’m saying that as an openly gay man, he is in a position to gain a lot by ruling in a way that overturns prop 8. I’m sure he can judge fairly in a case where he has no personal stake in the matter. I honestly don’t know how you got that from what I wrote.

By Prop 8 not being overturned I gain the satisfaction of knowing that the State has a biblical definition of marriage, a common-sense definition of marriage, a traditional definition of marriage, and a historical definition of marriage. Also, my gay friends (who I love and pray for) would have one less reason to view their lifestyle as valid. Homosexuality is a soul-damning lifestyle (not to mention the physical dangers that the media fails to discuss). I wish that on no one.

EVERYONE has something to gain by not promoting the homosexual lifestyle. Everyone who cares for the well-being of their gay friends…

  2. Regardless of his sexual orientation, he has ruled against homosexuals in the past. He is simply fulfilling his role as a Judge in interpreting the law. The only argument against gay marriage is that of a religious nature and that is an invalid one due to the first amendment.

  3. Biblically, Samuel I and II relating the relationship between David and Jonathan.

Also biblically, Jesus while being cornered by the pharasees as some of His diciples observe regarding marriage, divorce and the 3 classes of eunuchs. Matthew 19:1-12 King James Version.

What is traditional marriage any way? A hundred years ago and more(or less), the woman was the property of the man in marriage like his house and livestock. Is that part of marriage that never changes?

  4. A poster above just gave four arguments against gay marriage and two posts later, someone says religion is the only argument against homosexual “marriage”.

  5. And worse yet, the second poster says that’s an invalid argument. There are none so blind as those who just will not see.
