  1. I have to disagree with you brother. David and Nabeel has claimed through many of their youtube clips that all Christians are being persecuted, and implied, to some extend that those who weren’t persecuted basically have submitted themselves to the Islamic Sharia in Dearborn.
I also disagree with you on evangelizing,
    1. in 2009, Nabeel went to trump the Muslim guy on Camera. I can hardly call that evangelism.
    2. This year, they know the people in Dearborn don’t like them for how they (Act 17) depicted the city through their videos. If they have burned every bridge with the city, why do they think they can be good tool to evangelize the people in Dearborn. I am ashamed of how they have conducted themselves, and persist to claim that they representing Christ

    • Dear Pastor Haytham,

I really could see nothing wrong that these two brothers did, we cannot question their motives if we find nothing in His Word to contradict their fruit, the only manner in which we are to correct another believer is with His Word, is it not?

“Jesus said, Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. These men in Dearborn who do not know Christ, whether from Islam or any other religion, are of the synagogue of satan, they walk the course of this world as we once did. These men spoke the truth boldly, did they sin somewhere that I missed? Which part are you ashamed of? We should not strive, but we should be gentle & longsuffering, apt to teach, so should we not use His Word to take their conduct, and correct them with His Word instead of our feelings? (I am ashamed of how they have conducted themselves…)

Did not Jesus say when they were offended at Him that “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.” Were not the Pharisees offended at His sayings? When Jesus spoke hard sayings that His disciples did not understand, many were offended, and many also stopped following Him. What about Peter and John, were they not found offensive by the majority of non-believers wherever they went? Did not the Jews deliver up Paul because he spoke things they did not want to hear? What about Festus? Was he straightforward with him? What about Nathan when he spoke to David, who was God’s annointed by the way, did he not speak in a very strong manner about his wrong? Were not all Christ’s disciples killed for the offense of the gospel?

Many seem to feel that deceitfully handling the Word is love. They tell us, let’s be “civil” here on earth, by doing so, we will love them straight into hell. We need to let the Holy Spirit do His work and go out wherever we are led, and speak whatever we are told, because we each answer to the Lord. Whether or not these two are doing it for the right reason, God only knows. I could find no incorrect speech, but again, maybe you have seen more, point by point, as you saw actions publicly, let us correct with His Word.

I saw nothing where we can judge righteously against them except one possibility, forgive me if I am wrong, please again, always open to correction with God’s Word.

Jesus told His disciples this, and I believe it also applies to us, if not, please feel free to correct. “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. And when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! Matt 10:11-15

So, if anything, if this passage also applies to us who are ministers of reconciliation, then the possibility is that they might not go back to the same place? That is about the only Biblical correction I could find, this is the only thing that would be important (assuming I was correct), because my word does not matter, nor yours, nor any others, but the Word of God.

      God bless.

  2. Pastor Haytham, Thanks for your comment! Feel free to disagree. I only ask that you post the URL to the specific videos (I’ll need at least 2 since you described the videos in question as “many”) and kindly indicate the time in each video where they made that claim.

In reply to your two points I would ask:

    1. Can God not work through the witness of men who are being filmed? I would say yes, but if you are answering ‘no’ I would ask you to consider how powerful your God is.

Also, how do you know Nabeel’s intention was to “trump” the Muslim. He stated his intention as wanting to find out the answer to a question he had. If you know Nabeel’s intentions better than he did I am curious how you came to know them.

    2. Do you also feel ashamed of Jesus when you read Matthew 23? Jesus was rejected by His own people, did that stop Him from sticking around and telling them the uncomfortable truth? I answer no.

Who cares if some people in Dearborn don’t like Acts 17 Apologetics? To shy away from missions and evangelism on the basis of how the audience appreciates a message which calls them to repent of false gods and of their sin and pride is to never do any evangelism. The message of the cross is foolishness to Muslims, just like it was to the Greeks. Do you know any non-believers who actually like the Gospel message?

  3. Isn’t it the Arab Festival ?, not the Islamic Festival…there are tons of Christians from Middle Eastern backgrounds…and this was still America the last time I checked…

  4. Dear Glenn, I find this rather interesting that you and the Acts 17 crew keep finding some way to relate Muslims to the Romans. You all forget that there is no faith community out there other than Muslims that love Jesus, peace and blessings be upon him. I know our love for him is different than yours, but we do love him. Between stunts like claiming Shariah has been implemented in Dearborn and this ‘koran burning day’ being held, you are running some really risky lines.. The Acts 17 method to apologetics is counterproductive and in my mind is distancing you from Muslims not making it easier for you to deliver your message. It is creating an atmosphere of hostility and in my mind is modern age Crusaderism.. If you dont support peace and coexistence then I find it hard for you to claim that you are following anything that came form the likes of Jesus, peace and blessings be upon him. You need to lay off and stop glorifying people like Acts 17 who are nothing short of being provokateurs. It may be advisable for you to keep your eyes on your own faith community who is facing it’s own large struggles. All of our communities are facing trouble, that last thing anyone needs is more drama from people who claim to be God-loving individuals.
    much love.. mike

    • Mike, Muslims do not and could not possibly love Jesus, because He said He was God, and they do not accept His Words. If I was a friend with someone who said he loved me, but consistently said he did not believe what said, or who I said I was, he not possibly know me, and therefore does not love me. It is false.
If someone believes he was a prophet as Muslim’s believe, then the only outcome is that Muslims believe in false prophets. Jesus claimed to be the Messiah. He allowed disciples to follow Him as the Messiah, and claimed that they would only have life through Him. He was either who He said He was, or He was a liar and a false prophet. If you love Him, then you accept False prophets in your religion, which makes your religion false. Does it matter what I think? Absolutely not.

It just makes no sense for Muslims to believe that Jesus is a good prophet. It doesn’t make sense to me either for them to believe Mohammed was a good prophet with all the things he did. I am curious, how do muslims explain the sex with young girls, etc., do you think that is o.k.? How do we find peace with that kind of sin? I’m just curious.
