The Bible is packed full of comments and statements which will lead any honest investigator to the conclusion that Jesus of Nazareth is fully God (as well as fully man). With very few exceptions people do not require proof that Jesus possessed a human nature. This idea of Jesus being a man is completely orthodox and scriptural (when coupled with the statement about his deity), and even many sub-biblical views of Jesus hold to his humanity. For Jesus to be a magician, a guru, a wise or radical rabbi requires him to be at least a man. But if you want to use the Bible to learn about Jesus, to know what he said and did, you must believe all of what the Bible teaches about him: that Jesus is fully man AND fully God.

There are many ways to come to this conclusion. One could appeal to direct statements to the effect of Jesus being God; statements about Jesus doing, saying, or being something which could only be done by, said by, or apply to God; instances of Jesus being worshiped would qualify him for being God.

Below is a growing list of the Biblical evidence which states (in one way or another) that Jesus is God.

Bible verses which state that Jesus is God:

John 20:28 “Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’”

Acts 20:28 “the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood”

Romans 9:5 “the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever.”

Philippians 2:6 “although he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped”

Colossians 2:9 “in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily”

Titus 2:13 “our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ”

Hebrews 1:8 “…of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God,…”

2 Peter 1:1 “our God and Savior Jesus Christ”
