Religiously speaking, a Jew is a person who accepts the Old Testament as scripture but denies that Jesus Christ was the Messiah.

Ethnically speaking, a Jew is a person who traces their family history back to the Jewish people and events of the Old Testament.

As an adjective, Jewish refers to something which is unique to the religion, customs, or culture of the Jews.
